Regional competition in Kyrgyzstan

 

Global acceleration program A-Hub was held during 6 weeks in Kyrgyzstan for the first time expanding international opportunities for Kyrgyz startups.  In total, projects from 7 countries took part in the program: Georgia, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Egypt, Morocco, France and Kyrgyzstan. The best of which competed for the prize pool of $22,000 at the grand final in Morocco.

 

The regional competition was organized by the Islamic Foundation for Education, Science, Culture ICESCO, Kazakh business incubator Most, business accelerator DevCIT, with the support of the Innovation Center of Kyrgyzpatent. The best 15 Kyrgyz startups attended trainings, guest lectures and mentorship to prepare projects for the final international competition, three winners were granted to present the country and attend the Grand Final in Morocco: 

  • Fin.KG is a free online assistant in the world of finance, investment and savings. Startup services help to make a personal selection for credit and deposit products, make online applications for opening an account, issuing cards, obtaining microloans, and insurance. The site also invites users to participate in the compilation of national and professional ratings.
  • Til zone is a platform for peer to peer teaching foreign languages. Tilzone is equipped with video communication and an electronic textbook with full synchronization of exercises between teacher and student. The system automatically checks the completed tasks, providing more time for speaking practice. Also, the platform allows you to send homework and essays with the possibility of commenting and evaluation by the teacher.
  • Dofphotos is the first photostock in Kyrgyzstan that guarantees the legality of the use of images and the protection of the copyright of the photo artist. News, reportage, stock and archival licensed photos of the country and Central Asia at www.dofphotos.com.
